spring has sprung!

Today is the first day of spring. Spring marks the transition from winter into summer that occurs between winter and summer, March, April and May, during which the weather becomes warmer and plants revive. In a broader sense, spring is when the axis of the earth is tilted toward the sun, extending the length of daylight , making the northern hemisphere begins to warm significantly and causing new plant growth to "spring forth," giving the season its name.

Spring is in the air and you know what that means: Blooming buds, warmer weather, and most importantly, the will to finally leave the house and take a stroll at the nearby park or might as well take a weekend jaunt. Color is the essence of the spring season - turquoise blue, coral, pink, fuchsia, lavender, mint green, and orange. Spring, the very word conjures up images of rebirth, rapidly lengthening days, emerging blossoms and greenery, and the smell of freshness.

I think Spring is a time of growth, renewal, of new life being born. The term is also used more generally as a metaphor for the start of better times. The Christian season of birth and renewal has Easter at this time. Some spring holidays celebrated are Ash Wednesday, St. Patrick’s Day, Mothers Day, Good Friday, Easter, etc

What comes to mind when you hear the word 'SPRING' ? These are the things that comes to my mind relating to springtime;

spring break and vacation
spring clean
time for the garden and yard work
first grass cutting
time to prune your plants
time for Easter Egg Hunts
outside furniture
bbq's
seasonal allergies
tournaments kicks off
spring collection fashion shows
rainbows of flowers in bloom
warmer weather
floral print dresses
lush green grass
hummingbirds in flight, chirping birds
sunbeams of light
scents of different flowers
buzzing bees
tadpoles develop into frogs
April showers bring May flowers
